The union's negotiation team has worked with the city to arrive at a tentative agreement for a new contract that will cover 2023-2024.
Some of the highlights include:
- 4% raise for 2023
- 4.5% raise for 2024
- More worker-friendly timelines in the grievance procedure
- Increased boot allowance and guaranteed biohazard protection gear
Dues-paying members will be receiving a letter in the mail with voting instructions to ratify the contract. The contract will not go into effect until a majority of union members vote to ratify it and the Topeka city council ratifies it.
